Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare for work outcomes
   • Obtain, interpret and confirm work requirements
   • Access, interpret and apply documentation and procedures
   • Identify and confirm roles and responsibilities
   • Prepare work plans that ensure compliance with procedures and safe work outcomes within scope of own role
2. Apply work procedures to individual work activities
   • Carry out allocated site work in accordance with the workplace procedures and standards
   • Modify roles and responsibilities to meet changing circumstances after consultation with relevant personnel
   • Monitor work processes, report incidents and apply local risk control processes within scope of own role
   • Identify and report non-compliance of workplace procedures and report to relevant personnel
   • Complete written documentation in accordance with workplace requirements and standards

Performance Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including evidence of the ability to:

comply with site work processes and procedures on at least two occasions, including:

planning and completing tasks to achieve agreed outcomes

adjusting performance requirements to comply with processes and procedures

monitoring and recommending changes to overcome non-compliance with site procedures and standards

reporting the non-compliance of processes and procedures to supervisors

applying risk management processes to minimise injury and reporting immediately to the supervisor

completing required site documentation and reports.

During the above, the candidate must:

locate and apply relevant documentation, policies and procedures and confirm that the work activity is compliant

implement the requirements, procedures and techniques required to comply with site work processes and procedures

works with others to comply with site work processes and procedures

communicate with others to receive and clarify work instructions and to determine coordination requirements prior to commencing and during work activities.

Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including knowledge of:

key policies, procedures and documentation required to comply with site work processes and procedures, including those related to:

work health and safety procedures

duty of care obligations

emergency procedures

equipment safety requirements

work planning processes

site safety and health management systems

risk management processes

risks and hazards

records and reports

measures to minimise exposure to injury and illness

equipment and resource types, capabilities and limitations.
